It was just before the clock 18 Friday night the police were approached by a man and a woman traveling across Romsdalseggen in Rauma. They had wandered off and needed help to get down the mountain.
A Sea King helicopter and an alpine rescue team was put into the search for the two tourists, but the weather made the search difficult.
– The fog is so thick that the helicopter does not the two people, said Tove Anita Asp at the operations center for North og Romsdal Police NRK shortly after at 20 Friday. Helikoperet had senerere return because of the poor visibility.
Heavy cloud cover made for periods exploration work hard. The two tourists heard the helicopter, but the helicopter could not find them.
It was ground crews from the Alpine rescue group finally found the tourists.
They are found in seemingly good shape, lighted police just after midnight. The tourists had been surprised by the snow and did not find the trail.
They were found near Blånebba. Police had telephone contact with them and asked them to keep quiet until the emergency crews arrived at the site.
