Moss Road closed for hours – TV 2

A truck carrying methane ran into a rock wall at Fiskevollen in Oslo at seven o’clock Friday morning. Measurements on site gave teed leakage should be stopped. There are eight fire trucks on site.

– The leak we localized in two of the bottles is stopped, said guard commander in Oslo fire department, Stig Henning Duaas.

Meta bottles are connected in series to several other bottles, and these tapped now controlled by the fire department.

– It is quite undramatic. The gas is flammable, but easy. It rises straight up at once, and thinned out. The measurements are only manifestations up close.

Duaas say they have control of the situation.

According to the guard commander contains truck 50 liters battery packs with methane. It is localized leak in two of these.

Fire Service takes consecutive measurements. According to police, there is no danger for the people working on site.

– The situation is not so serious that we must evacuate, but rescue work is going to take a long time. Moss road is closed in both directions, said operations at the Oslo police force Svein Martin Ege.

Closed for hours

The load is difficult to move on and Mosseveien will be closed for long. Motorists are encouraged to find alternative routes and follow the signs.

– The truck is located across the road, we’re going to have to work for several hours, says Stig Henning Duaas.

It was probably heading towards the center.

The driver sat for a while clamped after the truck hit the mountain wall on E18. The man was conscious when he was rescued and is now taken to hospital.
