Backed Monika Alerts – were redeployed – Aftenposten

– I find that they look at me as bothersome, and that they want to neutralize me. I’m worried about how it will be for future whistleblowers in the police district, says Giertsen VG.

– Negative Review

Giertsen has previously warned that Monika Alerts Robin Schaefer was featured in negative terms at an internal meeting of the police, writes BT.

The reason was that Schaefer was told to stay away Monika affair when he raised the alarm about the shortcomings in the investigation of the eight year old’s death.

Giertsen believes she is being subjected to retaliation after she expressed support for Schaefer. She gets support from Kjetil Rekdal, head of the Police common union in Hordaland.

– We believe to be able to corroborate with the support of legislation concerning whistleblowers, that the treatment of Liv Giertsen is illegal, says Rekdal VG.

– Not offenses

Notifications case has previously been reviewed by an investigation team from the Police Directorate. It concluded earlier this year that there had been a breach of the Working Environment Act, and that there was nothing to indicate harassment or destructive management.

However, it was pointed out that a serious conflict by prosecution unit was poorly handled.

According to VG, the entire prosecution team at Bergen south police station, where she worked, was dissolved. Giertsen is reassigned to a position she did not want.

Acting Police Chief John Reidar Nilsen denies that this reflects GIERTSEN support for Schaefer. He justifies the dissolution of the prosecution team that the work situation at the police station were very negative.

– When I as chief of police prompted a hazardous work environment, I must without delay take measures to correct the situation. In this case there was no option but to dissolve the dysfunctional work environment. Anything else would be irresponsible, says Nilsen told VG.
