All trains in Norway stands for three hours until 13.00 – NRK

There are members of the Norwegian Locomotive Man Association and Norwegian Railway Association that goes to political strikes. The background is the government’s proposed Railways Form, as discussed in Parliament today.

Association Chairman Rolf Jorgensen in Norwegian Lokomotiv Mann Federation sorry consequences strike gets for passengers.

– I think that’s regrettable but we just strikes for passengers so they should get a train as they deserve, says Jorgensen said.

Implications for passengers Monday

Train which was underway when strike started stopped at the nearest station and wait there until the strike ends.

It does not run alternative transport during the strike, except in Oslo where it will be inserted additional shuttles if the influx of affected passengers are too great.

– We rarely have such a political mark and strikes. Unfortunately, it goes beyond the rating. We have added it to a period not affect commuters. It is important for us. We strike because the Parliament today treats a reform that we believe we destroy Norwegian railways, says Kjell Atle Brunborg, union leader.

The reason for the strike

Government with cooperation parties Left and KrF presented proposals the reorganization of the Norwegian railway on May 11.

A railway directorate shall organize tendering of train operations. The unions believe the proposal to facilitate the privatization and fragmentation of the current rail. They also react to what they believe is an urgent hearing of the case, and a lack of involvement and impact analyzes.

While the trains are Monday will unions organize markups in including Trondheim, Bergen, Oslo, Stavanger and Voss.
