Gunns mother (88) got served this municipality of: – A shame that older should get like that … – Dagbladet.no

(Dagbladet): Gunn Brox from Tromsø got almost haka slepp when her mother (88) showed her what ISS Matomsorg had delivered her midday meal Monday this week.

The right – which should be a byggrynssuppe – so namely anything but appetites out.

– I see that they call the byggrynssuppe, but I did not realize that it was, for there was not one barley in it. It was brown, with eight to nine raisins, and to me it looked like brown water with a little thickener, says Brox Dagbladet.

It is not the first time her mother – who live at home and receive help from the home – receives food she thinks does not measure up. Sometimes kotelletter without sauce, which is so dry that they must be bathed in melted margarine for them to be edible, says Brox.

Tremendous response

They also have bad experiences with dessert dishes to the ISS, especially soups.

– Mom will be so disappointed, for she is very fond of desserts, so many old people are. That’s what she is supposed to enjoy. Instead she comes into my room with these soups and asks if I want them, if not throw she them do, says Brox.

She took a picture of her mother’s dessert Monday and posted it on facebook. In facebook record denotes she it as “a shame that older should get served like dishwater.”

In writing, record garnered over 700 shares. Nordlys has also discussed the matter.

Want a written response

It’s relatively new ISS stands for food service in town. Before food was delivered by the municipal kitchen at Mortensnes.

Department Torgny Schroder says it is the same chefs, recipes and menus as before, and think the wrong distribution of goods may be because the soup to 700 people in Tromso cooked in a single pot.

– If anyone thinks that the soups our not good enough, then of course we will take it under advisement. We would like to have written feedback from people, both positive and negative, says Schroder to Nordlys.

Health and Care councils Gunhild Johansen (SV) says that this is the first time she hears about dissatisfaction with food being delivered from the ISS.

– If there is anything that does not measure up, so we would appreciate to get feedback about it. Let’s hope this is a one-time, she says to Nordlys.

Do not know where to complain

Brox does not buy that explanation completely, and says she can not understand except that her mother is not the only one who is unhappy.

– When people are so poor that they have brought food home, they are not able to complain either, I think maybe there is something there. I know that my mum has complained several times but then the drivers who bring food, says Brox.

– What happens next now?

– We have really no choice but to continue to get brought food, because I have no chance to make food to my mom every day, says Brox.
