The decision was unanimous in the council, which counts five people – three from the administration and two representatives of the staff. The Council has never had a case of such nature and such extent as Jensen hearing the case, according to Sponheim.
Eric Jensen is accused of gross corruption and complicity in the importation of huge quantities of drugs together with the so-called hash baron Gjermund Cappelen.

John Christian Elden, one of Jensen’s two defenders, denotes the prolonging suspension as expected.
– it is wise not to try to dismiss him as long as there is no judgment, says Elden said.
He said that the suspended police officer has full salary but adds that Jensen would get full pension because of age if he had decided to resign.
Jensen is charged with importation of all 49 parties with drugs with a total of 14 tonnes of hashish between 2004 and 2013.
The penalty is 21 years imprisonment. He denies guilt and declared that he was fit to play when the indictment was announced on 8 February.
