PST suspect Hussain recruited seven Norwegians IS – Dagbladet.no

(Dagbladet): PST investigating seven cases where they suspect the Islamist Ubaydullah Hussain has recruited Norwegians terrorist group IS. It makes NRK illuminated.

Hussain was last summer charged with conducting recruitment for terrorism, and PST is now considering whether the scope of recruitment is larger than initially expected. Should the vote must indictment from last year probably expanded.

The suspicion revolves mainly about seven individual cases where Norwegian citizens may have been recruited to the IS Hussain, according PST.

Vulnerable souls

Hussain is already charged with, inter alia, by letter di the so-called terror paragraph, Penal Code 147, the letter comes to recruiting for a terrorist organization.

– He does not acknowledge guilt, says Hilde Wiig Nicolaysen, Hussain’s lawyer, told NRK.

According PST operates Hussain after a clear pattern where vulnerable people singled out and contacted with questions about running terror for IS. He is formerly charged with intimidation and an attempt to influence witnesses.

– General charges

Nicolaysen says PST indictment appears general and vague for her client.

– How indictment stands today as it is very generally worded, not against specific persons and concrete actions. For my client, it is unclear what PST believes he has done, she continues.

PST do not want to say anything concrete about the matter around Hussain, other than that it is “very keen to investigate recruitment for terrorism”.

Hussain has been detained since December. Oslo District Court will today consider whether he should be imprisoned again.

– We believe there is a strong likelihood degree that he will commit new offenses, told police prosecutor in the Police Security Service (PST), Anne Karoline Bakken Staff, when police first got Hussain custody.
