One confirmed dead after shipwreck at Brønnøysund – Adresseavisen

The men went out from Nevernes in Nordland in a small open boat around at 16.30. They were reported missing by the wife of one when they did not return during the evening.

– We were told by the police at 22.28 and it was initiated search. The two fishermen were found by a fishing boat that had gone out to look for them. Both lay in the water beside the boat. They were taken to shore by Nevernes quay where they were welcomed by health care, said rescue leader Jakob Carlsen at JRCC in northern Norway said.

According to rescue the leader it is a little wind in the area, but no more than fresh breeze.

– the boat was capsized in the sea, but we do not yet cause for this, says Carlsen.

the police are now doing research on the spot.

– One is confirmed dead. The condition of the other we do not know more about. He is sent to Helgelandssykehuset Sandnessjøen, said operations manager Martin Skjervagen Nordland police.
