Extreme Weather Nina Saturday has ravaged large parts of southern Norway, is now considered over, reports Meteorological Institute.
Having swept over western Norway with hurricane force Saturday afternoon and evening, the wind has decreased so much in the country that meteorological 1:30 am on Sunday stated that extreme weather is over for this time.
Several places in eastern, southern Norway and especially western Norway reported still on against stormy, but the wind is decreasing and it should decrease further into the night. Still it will blow a small storm in the mountains south of Finse first part of Sunday.
Under the border
Storm center had Saturday night split into two, with one part of central Sweden, and the other part to rest off the coast of Møre og Romsdal.
In Østfold wind had decreased to near gale on the coast, while there were gale force Vestfold on the other side of the fjord.
In both Buskerud, Telemark and Aust-Agder reports still about powerful gusts and storms vulnerable places in the mountains, but this is no less than the limit of extreme weather.
In Vest-Agder wind had decreased to near gale on the coast in 1:30 o’clock, but it was still stormy at Lindesnes.
Storm in the West
Though the storm no longer considered extreme, it was still not completely becalmed in neither Rogaland, Hordaland or Sogn og Fjordane Saturday night with northwesterly small and sometimes stormy in all counties.
But over all reports now that the wind is beginning to decline. In the western counties will wind decrease gale force into the night. Sunday night is the only fresh breeze again by extreme weather Nina.
