DRAMMEN (Dagbladet): – The defendant is a particularly demanding woman. She perceived as intense, ongoing, manipulative and conflict.
This says Anders Westeng defends the 53-year-old woman who is accused of premeditated murder of her husband Per Gunnar Asheim (57) in Tranby Drammen two years ago.
– Took his own life
When the main hearing in the trial began earlier today denied six children mother guilt for the murder, but pleaded partially guilty of abuse of children, and guilty of influence of witnesses.
Westeng and medforsvarer Hildemarie Ims, will in its defense seek to show that the deceased Asheim, who was director of Fredriksen company Frontline, took his own life and tried to get his wife convicted of murder.
– There are strong and firm evidence that the murder theory is wrong. We shall solve a murder, but prevent a miscarriage of justice, says Westeng.
According to the defense put up Asheim night on March 27 in his wife’s BMW convertible in a parking lot near the home at Tranby.
– There He drank alcohol, took pills and smoked. Then he put the car on fire with themselves inside, says Westeng – claiming Asheim ahead planted central evidence against his wife in their joint home.
– Lay in war
It is a much-discussed fact that the two spouses for years lay in ‘war’ with each other about the children, yet continued to live under the same roof. She Newsletter him to violence, he took up residence at the shelters. The initial statement that 53-year-old is “a particularly demanding woman” used to draw the picture of a defendant with poor odds in the investigation and during the trial.
– Police have eg. never easy after Asheim fingerprints, says Westeng.
The original Polish six children mother has been under observation by psychiatrists right Audun Møller and Gunnar Johannessen. In his report they concluded that the woman is criminally sane.
– There is no uncertainty behind the conclusion Johannessen says to Dagbladet.
The two psychiatrists should throughout the trial six weeks sitting in front of the judges and observing the defendant.
– We must hear the witnesses in order to set a diagnosis, says Møller.
On a general basis say the two experts that current diagnoses in such cases are different personality disorders, as antisocial personality disorder – including characterized by lack of empathy.
