Oslo police dropped the Rema 1000s reviews of a variety of other stores.
The store chain to the police in January around 120 stores across the country, for having broken rules to stay open on Sundays. This happened after Rema had conducted checks of competitors’ stores including by taking pictures, video and measure the tiles in the store to check on areas consistent with the legislation.
– We will no longer tolerate in our largest competitor, Norway Group, which trains toward a market share of 50 percent, breaking the law and keeping stores open on Sundays, while we follow the law and are closed, said CEO Ole Robert Reitan VG then.

– We have received feedback from four of 13 police districts so far. In Møre og Romsdal, six of 13 dismissed, in Nordland, Agder and Oslo are all dismissed, says Mette Fossum Beyer, director of communications and public relations in Rema 1000 VG.
– Are you going to appeal the cases being dropped?
– No, we’re not going to do. Police have completed its review and that we take into consideration.
She says that this may have consequences for Rema 1000s own stores.
– We are now considering opening more than our round 20 Sunday open stores, says Beyer.
– Will you open on Sundays shops that are beyond the scope of what you previously thought were law?
– Now we will look at this and consider the gray challenge is and see how our competitors interpret the regulations. But how and what shape we do it in, we need to get back to later. There are more and more stores are open on Sunday, more and more people want to shop on Sundays.
