Molde / Oslo (NTB Alexander Vestrum) weather situation west of the country are regarded not as extreme, but Møre og Romsdal and Sogn og Fjordane may wind up against hurricane strength Saturday.
Late Thursday night sent Meteorological Institute issued an alert for areas that are under increased surveillance. It applies Vest-Agder, Rogaland, Hordaland, Sogn og Fjordane and Møre og Romsdal.
– The low pressure on Friday is now expected to remain on the coast of Rogaland Friday afternoon. The strongest winds remain at sea, and the situation on Friday therefore considered not as extreme. It is expected western small and may stormy south of Boknafjord, according to the notification.
The low pressure Saturday held still under increased surveillance. It is expected western storm with gusts up to 30-35 meters per second in Vest-Agder, Rogaland and Hordaland.
In Sogn og Fjordane and Møre og Romsdal expected southwest or western strong storm and possibly hurricane, with gusts of 35-45 meters per second. The waves may be up against 10 to 12 meters, according to the alert.
