- Move it out of Bergen – VG

- Move it out of Bergen – VG

After revelations that the chief did not do anything with alerts letter he received about Monika case, says lawyer John Christian Elden that Bergen police have played their role.

Saturday discussed VG a letter whistleblower in Monika case sent chief of Hordaland in January last year. The letter described whistleblower why he believed that the eight year old girl could be killed.

– There are several things that indicate that someone has strangled her and then hung her on the doorknob, wrote Notifier in late January last year.

Shortly after the letter was sent, the matter was dismissed as suicide.

– Should be moved to ensure neutral investigation

Monika Sviglinskaja (8) was found dead in his home by his mother on 14 November 2011. The little girl went into the extremely rare statistics of children who take their own lives.

As a result of this letter says criminal lawyer John Christian Elden VG that police in Bergen should give up the investigation of the case.

– The case should be moved from Bergen’s police to ensure a neutral investigation. The case has been an internal struggle at the police station between different groups and unions. It provides no legal protection for the person who will be investigated, he said.

– Something one should learn from the case. In Monika affair seems not focus anymore to be on the criminal case, but police management.

– The case is in good hands

First Attorney Eirik Stolt-Nielsen Limited will not comment Eldens allegations, but said:

– Police have established a new investigation team, with good assistance from NCIS. I found it seems as if the matter is in good hands.

The same says Deputy Police in Hordaland Police Gunnar Fløystad VG.

– We consider it not as necessary as investigation was taken up again, he said.

During January, it is expected that the Bureau comes with its assessment of Hordaland police investigation of the case.

– Edged to comment

– For reasons of investigation of Public Prosecutions and the Bureau, the police are precluded from commenting both the old investigation of the case and notify the status, said Geir Gudmundsen VG Saturday.

Elden mean not that lead in Hordaland Police should withdraw, even after much criticism.

– The marshal must obviously not withdraw because there is an ongoing investigation, but it will be wise to transfer substantially to others, says he said.

Three years after Monika was found murdered, the former girlfriend of Monika mother, a man in his late 20s from Lithuania, accused of murder.

– It appears not good that the case is first dropped, and then comes later emerged that there is sufficient evidence against a person. It is important that we get a proper review of this, says law professor Asbjørn Strandbakken at the University of Bergen VG. He has criminal as a specialty.
