Hundreds wait in line to get access to traitor Archives – TV 2

The National Archives has already received hundreds of inquiries from people who want access to the new treason archive which opened on 1 January.



Large demand

Archives has already received hundreds of inquiries from people who are in search of family secrets, or by people who want to whitewash the family from rumors.

In Treason Archives in the National Archives is the overall well 90,000 treason cases and 350 Criminal cases.

– The cases applies police investigation and prosecution of Norwegians was suspected of having supported the occupying power in the period 1940-1945. Of over 90,000 cases were o m 20,000 convicted of treason. Additional 29,000 received sanction in the form of fines, says deputy director Erland Pettersen at the National Archives to TV 2.

Both convicted and dismissed cases available

All cases that were dropped by the various considerations are also found in the archive.

– All cases of Vidkun Quisling who were passively NS member and resigned in 1942, found in these shelves, says Pettersen.

Can receive copies

Those who want access must contact the National Archives via email and can either access the folders in the National Archives reading room in Oslo or receive copies.

Seeking amount will determine how long it will take before people get answers. Erland Pettersen, estimates at least 3-4 weeks latency, writes Our Country.
