Here they make a new edition of Charlie Hebdo – Aftenposten

Behind police barricades and closed doors in the premises of the newspaper La Liberation now working 20 to 30 employees in satire newspaper Charlie Hebdo hard to finish its next edition. It probably gets a circulation of one million Wednesday to week.

According to the chief editor Gerard Biard is not a number that honors the newspaper. He stated that it should become a regular Charlie Hebdo number.

– Next issue of Charlie Hebdo will be fun. I hope it will make people laugh. Bi must continue to laugh, think Biard.

On the assassination day, Wednesday the 7th of January, he was on meeting in London.

All of the staff will contribute in the new number. He stressed all.

– We’re still here. Anyone who buys Charlie Hebdo Wednesday’s Charlie Hebdo. I hope everyone will subscribe, he says to French television.

On the homepage of Charlie Hebdo stands it now, on a black background:

“Because the pencil will always stand taller than barbarism. ” “Because freedom is a universal right” “Because you support us.”

It is not the first time the newspaper La Liberation set up premises for Charlie Hebdo. It also happened three years ago. After the assassination Wednesday they were again quickly contacted their counterparts in La Liberation who invited them into their premises. They located a pen tip from Place de la Republique where writing is black of people demonstrating against extremism. People shout “Charlie!”

Although the two editors are now under the same roof, Charlie Hebdo-staff locked themselves in a large meeting. Around the same they work the eight sides who are going out Wednesday.

– I do not know if they are afraid, or what they make now, but they are professionals and work hard in a difficult situation, says editor Johan Hufnagel La Liberation Aftenposten.

He says that it is not difficult to help colleagues in the newspaper that was hit so hard, knowing that the assassination was an attack on the free press. He says that they are not afraid.

– We are not afraid. We must stand together now, solidarity. Security commotion here is huge, the police are here to protect us, says Hufnagel.

– We have given them space and computers, also Le Monde has contributed some computers, he said.

In Liberation reception, a few floors below where the world’s most famous magazine is now in the process of being made, it is quiet Sunday morning. In comes a man in a red coat, newspaper editor through 34 years. But François Sergent (61) he resigned as editor Tuesday, the day before the terrorist attack.

He admits that they have been and are anxious.

– We’re a little afraid, but we must take the risk. Charlie Hebdo and we are cousins. Draftsman Charb was often here, he sat there, says Sergent and pointing at a meeting in the reception area.

For Morgenbladet Biard has told Charlie Hebdo of 22 years has received 21 judicial subpoenas which 20 from Catholic organizations. Only one has come from Islamists, as they pressed the most spectacular of Jyllands-Posten’s cartoons.

Charlie Hebdo move into competitor

The French newspaper Liberation lend their editorial offices to surviving Charlie Hebdo journalists. Editor, Pierre Fraideraich says concluding flight seats are welcome as long as they need it.
