Would like to thank everyone who took part in the action – Telemarksavisa

It was initiated a major exploration campaign when three young girls were reported missing after a canoe trip in Sauherad Monday afternoon. At 14.15 police received notification that the three 14 year old girls had been separated from the rest of the group during a kayaking trip from Akkerhaugen to Årnes.

Police started a rescue operation to find the three girls, and partly assisted Mid-Telemark fire department police to make searches along the river. A SeaKing helicopter was also called to the site.

At 17.30 reports Operations Terje Pedersen that the girls were found safe and sound. The girls had come away from the rest of the group and applied into more sheltered waters in Gvarv river where they were eventually found.

All three German girls were wearing life jacket during a canoe trip, says Pedersen.

– Police want to give a big thanks to all who participated in the action as meant that the girls were found alive and well, says Pedersen. Police would like to thank both NGOs and private individuals.
