Hundreds of Norwegians abroad Downs test – Aftenposten

One of the clinics is Ultrasound Clinic for Pregnant in Copenhagen. 200-300 Norwegian women go there every year, newspaper VG.

– They come because they can not get surveys in Norway. All expressed frustration that the Government of Norway deprives women a straight man has in Denmark. There should be a free choice, for such it should be in a democratic society, says physician and clinic manager Lillian Skibsted.

Mama Mia entity in Sweden is Scandinavia’s largest private women’s and children’s clinic. There is not surprised influx of Norwegian women.

– I would think that all women who do not receive the offer they want in their home country, will seek help abroad. Obviously coming Norwegian women to us. Women must fight for their rights, and the men in power must not control who they want, says the clinic’s own Christina Wahlström.

Section Chief at the National Center for Fetal Medicine at St. Olav’s Hospital, Torbjørn Moe Eggebø, has great understanding of the Norwegian women’s choices.

– We think it’s silly that it should be different systems in the Scandinavian countries. This should have been offered in Norway too. There should be women themselves to decide whether they want such early ultrasound or not, he said.
