A farmer in Rogaland is sentenced to three months in jail for animal cruelty. When the animal welfare committee came to his farm, they found, among other things, five dead sheep in the stall.

In addition, it was found 42 sheep and two bulls that were emaciated, writes Aftonbladet. These bulls weighing less than half of natural weight.

The Man in 40s is also convicted of breach of the Food Act because he had not notified the FSA of the dead animals in the barn.

The man has health problems, but Stavanger district court found no mitigating circumstances.

The man does not lose the right to hold animals. The farmer has also stated that it is not necessary for him to resume husbandry in the coming years.
