Terror accused jailed for four weeks – Aftenposten

The court believes there is still a risk of loss of evidence if the two released. Moreover, the Court that the suspicions against them is not compromised since last incarceration meeting in July. Therefore the Court that there is still reason to keep the two in custody.



Wide evidence

The police are still working to go through large amounts of evidence in the case and shall interrogate several witnesses in end of the month.

The men were arrested on 27 May this year, charged with violation of Penal Code section 147 which includes the financing of terrorist acts.

According to the Police Security Service (PST), they have planned to join the terrorist organization Islamic state (IS), formerly known as the Voyage.

Indictment in November

A 24-year-old man – 27-year-old brother – also indicted in the case but was previously released from custody.

prosecutor Rolf Blom plan to bring charges against the men in November. Lawyer Brynjar Meling defends the 27-year-old case. He has previously said that his client did not acknowledge guilt.

– It is in the nature that he is a conservative Muslim who is concerned about a number of issues on an equal footing with other ambulatory and thinking people in this world, Meling said in June.
