Drilling gang may have moved westward – Romsdals Budstikke

The so-called drilling gang is known to use a method in which they burrow through the window sills to pry up the catches on the inside of the glass. More burglary in Rogaland is now seen in the context of the over 40 burglaries gang suspected to be behind further east of the country, writes Stavanger Aftenblad.

– Over the past few days we have received several reports of burglaries and attempted burglaries in that area. We have reason to believe that there is a burglary gang who previously operated in Eastern and Southern Norway, they have come here to the district, said operations manager Egil Karlsen in South West police.

The police does not exclude that gang is behind a recent break from Thursday evening, where thieves broke into a container at Forus Rogaland and ran off with tools for large values.

– I would not be surprised if it comes messages also in the night of burglary or attempted burglary. People need to be on guard now, says Karlsen to Aftenbladet Thursday night. (© NTB)
