Anundsen asked pressure peak about meeting after criticism – Adresseavisen

The newspaper has had access to a letter sent to Anundsen Loken Stavrum, Secretary General of the Norwegian Press Association, 16 March. The reason was that Loken Stavrum in a VG interview had made critical comments about what she called Anundsen “deep skepticism towards the free media.”

“Since it may appear that you have misunderstood my view of the free press and you call for a Minister of Justice who will believe anything else in this area than you think I do, it would be illuminating to have a meeting about these issues … I hope we can find a convenient time as soon as possible, “writes Anundsen including, according to Dagbladet.

Loken Stavrum would not comment on the contents of the letter, but it evokes reactions from politicians and journalists.

– This is not how we relate to media . These letters belong in another time and another form of government, says Liberal leader Trine Skei Grande.

– I think that the media organizations have much to say to Anders Anundsen, but this discussion does not belong in his office, says Arne Jensen, secretary general of the Norwegian Editors’ Association.
