Vigilant motorist saw smoke topple out – Bergens Tidende

Bus Fire in Løvstakken Tunnel in Bergen. 20 passengers were transported out of the burning bus.

It burned vigorously for a bus in Løvstakken Tunnel in Bergen 22.45 o’clock Saturday night. The fire started about two kilometers inside the tunnel seen from the city, that is quite close Fyllingsdal page.

Smoke divers have investigated tunnel without finding people. A rescue vehicle is requisitioned to remove the bus.

There were about 20 people on the bus when it caught fire. They had to go out of the bus, and was picked up and carried out by another bus.

– The driver told us that they spotted smoke in the bus. Right behind came another bus. So were the two drivers resourceful and got all over the bus behind. This was so early that smoke development should not have been so great, said operations manager Bjarte Rebnord police.

The bus was a line 15 in the direction Bønes and Kråkenes.

the driver is now being addressed by the bus company Tide. Police said that some of the passengers feel uncomfortable, they should seek emergency care or call the emergency phone 116 117.

Lise Jeanett Larsen was on his way home from work when she met the bus in Løvstakken Tunnel. She became aware of a higher and higher sound. At first she thought it was from her car.



– I turned down, and then I saw the bus. It was a powerful ulelyd from it, she says. The smoke she discovered first as she drove past. Brent smell came right away in the car.

– I smelled the smell right away, she says. She did not see sparks, just smoke, says Larsen.

A motorist alerted road traffic center that the smoke was coming from the bus. Then the tunnel was closed and the smoke blew against Fyllingsdalen page. The fire brigade arrived after a few minutes.

While fire engines drove into the tunnel, waiting paramedics for four or five ambulances outside.

Just after the clock 23.05 reported 110 exchange on Twitter that the fire is extinguished, and that nobody is inside the vehicle. Several ambulances drove it back.



Thank vigilant motorist

Road traffic control center were those who learned about the fire first. A motorist who had seen smoke coming out of the car, called and was concerned.
