Here disappears 200m way and two excavators – Dagbladet.no

200 meters of highway 13 between Granvin and Voss slid into the water Wednesday night. Two excavators disappeared, but no people were injured.

Veistykket has collapsed in Granby water. Here are performed currently excavation work in connection with Jobergtunnelen, which is part of the “Vossapakko.”

– We have no idea what has happened. The entire road is washed away or buried. We have now sealed off, said guard operator Marius Raab NPRA to Bergens Tidende.

The landslide occurred about 200 meters from the intersection where Highway 13 meets County Road 572.

All emergency services are notified and road traffic center has implemented measures to block the road.

John Holven who live just above rasstedet, says he slowly but surely saw how the filling of the water gave way.

– the clock 19.30 I realized that something was happening. Then I went out and saw that the masses steadily. Two construction equipment disappeared. It drifts still, but no one was injured, said Holven said.

Holven staying four farms above rasstedet. When the clock neared 22.30 there was still movement in the masses.

– The sagging still. Construction workers who worked there were even closed traffic, he said.



Running on railway trace


Holven says that it is almost impossible to get between Voss and Granvin via Highway 13 – supply road to highway 7 over Hardangervidda. But some still found creative solutions.

– There are closed now. I see some private cars running on the old railway line on the other side. There is a narrow pedestrian and cycle there now, so there may be chaos, he said .

Operations Morten Kronen West police said that an ambulance was first on the spot, but it had nicely to turn back because the road had disappeared. He sums up the situation this way against Bergens Tidende:

– The whole road is gone at sea. Unless you have wings or other remedies, gets you no further.
