Erna denies unemployment crisis – NRK

Unemployment in Norway may reach record levels in 2016, measured in the number of unemployed. But the prime minister will not talk about the crisis, writes VG.

– It is measured in the number of unemployed, but in percent, unemployment in Norway remains low, it is especially registered unemployment.

– We see no reason to shout about crisis: We believe it is much more important to focus on providing long-term framework, because it will help ensure that we manage to get growth in new sectors, says Solberg said.

– Viewing billions error

Labor leader Jonas Gahr Støre disagrees that unemployment is low and warns against the government’s economic policy.

– The government uses very many billions error. Conservatives and the Progress Party maintains that the tax cuts to those with the most is what will create the new jobs. It did not before and does not work now, says Støre.

Will help the weakest

The prime minister however refers to the government’s short- and long-term measures against unemployment, including the package of measures on 4 billion, and she will help the weakest in the labor market.

– We will shortly submit a white paper to help older people who are struggling in the labor market because they are too poor to read and write. Many have tumbled out of the labor market because they lack knowledge, she says.
