The municipal Flåmdalsvegen is closed after a large rockslide Saturday. The road is also part of the popular cycle path Rallarvegen.
– The road opens relatively quickly, but if it is Monday night or early Tuesday, I can not say for sure, said Mayor Noralv Distad in Aurland municipality to NRK .
The landslide was discovered by sheep farmer Anders Fretheim Sunday morning.
– The slide is over 50 meters wide, and some of the stones are enough up to 20 cubic meters big, says Fretheim to Bergens Tidende.
He advises people to stay in the mountains or take Flåmsbanen past the site.
Rallarvegen extends right from Haugastøl in Hol municipality in Buskerud via Finse to Flåm.
