A 90 year old male resident of Nordland is in eastern Finnmark District Court sentenced to prison for two years for sexual abuse of three grandchildren. According to the indictment started abuses when grandchildren were under 14 and 16 years old.
The three aggrieved, which is domiciled in East Finnmark, are now all adults. In court acknowledged man guilty for assaulting the two oldest grandchildren, but not the youngest. The court, however, found the man guilty of assaulting all three reports iFinnmark.
The offenses became known in 2012, the same year as the last assault happened, according to the indictment. It deals with many assaults committed by a grandfather, an officer of the children had close contact with, and that they had reason to expect to feel safe with, said the ruling from Eastern Finnmark District Court on Thursday.
The prison verdict is in line with the prosecutor’s contention. The court assessed the defendant’s advanced age would mean that the punishment be wholly or partially suspended, but concluded that the punishment be unconditional. As a mitigating circumstance, emphasis was placed on long processing times and the defendant’s partial acknowledgment.
90-year-old is also ordered to pay damages and compensation
totaling close to 360,000 crowns for the three grandchildren.
