Prosecutions have sent over Eirik Jensen decision – NRK

Almost two years have passed since Eric Jensen was detained in the garage at his former workplace, the police station in Greenland in Oslo. Today did Prosecutions clear that they have sent the case against Jensen, who is charged with aggravated korrpupsjon and drug crimes, is sent over the Norwegian Bureau for the Investigation of Police Affairs.

The Bureau must now Notifications parties of the decision.

– We have received Public Prosecutions decision. We will communicate the decision on the parties next week. Some comments beyond what we have not, says Jan-Egil Presthus Bureau NRK.

the investigation of an extensive drug network led by bærum man Gjermund Cappelen, had given police suspected that the former top police had not followed the rules as a policeman.

After roughly three months in custody, Jensen released. Corruption charges were maintained, and in October 2014 was expanded to also include complicity in serious narcotics offense.

Jensen has throughout denied guilt, and said at the launch of his own book in March last year that revenge can be a motive anklgene. Jensen’s former defender, Jens-Ove Hagen, said to NRK that it is obvious that someone has been trying to “get” Jensen.



Trial berammmet

Cappelen has in interviews with police testified that Jensen should have received money and favors in exchange for information that made the extensive drug smuggling possible. Cappelen estimates that he has smuggled in between 20 and 25 tonnes of hashish to Norway over 20 years.

Last November, six men in Cappelens networks sentenced to between five and 16 years in prison for possession and sale of large quantities of hashish. Also Cappelen was found guilty, but sentencing of punishment was postponed pending a defendant for importation which also includes Jensen.

Oslo District Court has already set four months of the trial, which after the NRK understands planned startup in August.
