Fire in apartment building in Oslo extinguished – Romsdals Budstikke

Both the police and Oslo Fire and Rescue Department notified the fire in Gabels street just before at 9:30 Saturday. The first reports were that there was large amount of smoke from an apartment on the sixth floor of the apartment building. When emergency services arrived, it was established that there was a fire.

– Three fire engines have arrived. There is smoke in the apartment on the sixth floor. We popped in the door. Smoke divers inside, thick smoke, fire department wrote on Twitter.

After a short time had firefighters controlled the fire, but they had to break up the floor to extinguish the flames. Half an hour later, the fire was extinguished, and the fire department on site ran with venting, stated the police.

No residents in the building to have been injured in the fire, but a total of 14 people were evacuated. (© NTB)
