Eric Jensen’s lives that police are television series – NRK

– There are series. We have not completely fallen down on what type but this is thought that drama. It is the mass crime story here. Simply tough detective stories, says Håkon Øverås.

He is producer for 4 1/2 Film, which last year bought the rights to Eric Jensen’s book “Inside. The story of my politiliv “from Eric Jensen and Kagge publishers.

Yesterday Jensen indicted for serious corruption and contributing to serious drug crime. It does not affect the plans to create a television series of his book.

– It’s a rough and large indictment. I and several of my thinking that Eric Jensen is innocent and would not have done so much different if he was not prosecuted. I think this is interesting anyway, says Øverås.

Jensen is charged with having helped Gjermund Cappelen to smuggle drugs into the country, and Cappelens explanation is an important part of the case against Jensen.

Cappelen is also featured in Jensen’s book, but when as an informant. Cappelen his defender, Benedict de Vibe, consider a television series based on the book will be problematic.

– It is not at all prepared in the book as if it’s just a novel, or robber novel but it’s presented as being factual. Then it is difficult to turn on it when it now will be filmed. Then it suddenly no facts then, but when he writes a book as there are facts, and so it can not be, he said.

Not documentary

Håkon Øverås says television series not going to be a documentary, but do not see it as a problem if it will be perceived as such.

– no, I do not think so, he said.

When the book came out was the ethics around vigorously debated, and police believed that Kagge publishers should have contacted them about the contents of the book.

Øverås in 4 1/2 Film see it as positive that the book creates debate.

– I hope it really that we get. I live by, he said.

Much uncertain

It is not yet clear who will finance or directing television series, but Øverås hope it could be sent next fall. Then the trial of Jensen most likely over.

– Do you have any ethical qualms of going into this issue when Jensen is prosecuted and may be sentenced man when the television series to be sent?

– Yes, it’s fine with me. It makes others judge him, saying Øverås.
