Christina’s father: – Hope the wait is almost over – Østlands-Posten

– It was well as we had expected and hoped for, says Roar Juel Johannessen to Østlands-Posten.

He has never given up hope that her daughter’s killer will be sentenced, and has worked diligently behind the scenes to find out what happened when her daughter came home from bathe in 1999.

the reason for Public Prosecutions petition is thus the discovery of the man’s DNA profile at Christina’s fingernails, and that DNA found supports the central witness observations made that day the murder took place, writes Director of Public Prosecutions.

Now consider Juel Johannessen burden as 100 percent, unlike the last time the matter was up.

– the time was evidence both partially diffuse and the case also incorrectly added up. Now we hope the evidence is stronger in a lawsuit, says Juel Johannessen.

new analysis using new technology

the discovery was made after the seizure in the case was reviewed and analyzed again in 2015. DNA found supports the central witness observations made that day the murder took place, writes Director of Public Prosecutions.

A criminal case may be reopened if new information or evidence makes that “one must assume that he is guilty of the offense.”

new analytical results previously obtained evidence, accumulated as a result of improved analysis technique, considered as new evidence. Public Prosecutions assessment is that the conditions for reopening the case are met.
