That’s why it went wrong again – Aftenposten

That's why it went wrong again – Aftenposten

Yesterday morning drove new drivers away. Or was delayed. And the bus for train-stopper from Oslo on the afternoon was great. It is expected to get worse in the days to come.

three weeks perform Rail Administration planned work on the Østfold Line. Passengers transported by bus instead of the train. While Follo Line Oslo Ski prevented will occur steadily.

General examination which began on 28 July has been a little scandal. With delayed buses and drivers who drive away, in the morning, and a stopper in Bjørvika, when people are going home after work.

Drops

Since Operation Operational key, which internally NSB called Drops, loath statement to the media, the communications advisor Earl Myhre passenger train operations that need answering.

– I can only confirm that the situation is difficult, says Myhre.

– Where it fails the most?

– When we are out of Oslo S. In the street that is parallel to the track 19 is the cap on the number of buses. The roof when we fast, with 250 buses in turn. In addition, we have challenges with traffic flow in and around Oslo S, says Myhre.

brake

This is not least about roundabouts and traffic lights in Dronning Eufemia Street, which ensures full brake when NSB chartered buses meetings buses and cars.

It happened several times yesterday morning, and will happen even more often as more return from vacation.

– For years the railroad practiced extensive closures, with bus service. Why you still do not succeed?

– The question is good, but it is not easy to answer. We have an internal organization that annually handles this with many new bus companies. But when drivers driving the wrong route, or stopping in the wrong place, we know that repeats itself, it is nevertheless our responsibility. We have not informed well enough, says Myhre.

– I can confirm that we are going to confront internally about why this happens enough away, he says.

– But this year the situation would be clearer. With short periods of closure to the west and a controlled shutdown of Østfoldbanen

– no doubt about it. But we can not escape the cumbersome solution around Oslo S. We are not strong enough to get the buses through. And we have also not given enough information to bus operators.

– What are you doing to improve the situation?

– We will hold a status meeting every day. Here we treat feedback from customers, the media, and from our own. Most of the 250 buses go as they should. Approx. 13,000 commuters from Østfold came to Oslo also this Monday morning. It is approx. 3000-4000 more than last week. But we know that many people have problems.

– The supervisors have no communication with the bus drivers. They can not tell them waiting when the bus arrives?

– This information is provided through Drops. But we have 250 mobile phones out there, and ever stepping into new drivers for others. It’s not easy to keep track.

– What is your general advice to commuters?

– Meet up at the station by the timetable. If the bus arrives ten minutes late, it’s because it takes longer than the train. When trouble we replace the cost for customers.

– What about those who do not get the service they should?

– Is there a lack of space or other challenges, as contact us later. You get refunded tickets and other expenses. These are the services we basically will deliver without problems.

– For many years must østfoldpendlerne take bus service. Which signal to these give you now?

– A bad signal, so the situation is today. But we want new solutions, not least out of Oslo, and hope to realize this, said Earl Myhre.
