Meat, sugar and electricity becomes more expensive – Dagbladet.no

Twelve-month growth has slowed by 0.1 percentage points from March, according to fresh figures from Statistics Norway (SSB). The main reason for this is a change in fares.

Food prices rose by 3.9 percent from April last year to April this year.

In particular, meat and sugar products have become more expensive. Also the price of electricity, including grid, pulled inflation figure upward. The electricity was 12.3 percent more expensive in April than in April last year, which is the highest twelve-month rise since November 2013.

There’s economists attach the greatest importance, however, is the so-called core inflation, in SSB markup language known as CPI-ATE. This index rose by 3.3 percent from April last year to April this year.

The change is in line with analysts’ expectations. According to analyst Kjetil Olsen in Nordea Markets have probably larger deviations before century affect monetary policy in Norges Bank, which keeps interest rate meeting on Thursday this week.
