Siv: – Jonah care for Ryanair’s double standards – Dagbladet.no

(Dagbladet): It was the onslaught against Finance Minister Siv Jensen Parliamentary question today, not to mention the Walking Hall afterwards, the closure of Rygge Airport Moss.

The opposition led by Labor leader Jonas Gahr Støre accused the government of lousy crafts and games with jobs in Oslo where there is great unemployment before. But the government and cooperation Liberal Party turns hard back against Minister.

– This is raw populism and politics without a backbone, says Liberal leader Trine Skei Grande about Ap.

Finance Siv Jensen says she understands the employees’ concerns and said the government will go into the case after the decision to close down the airport last night.

– Not Ryanair dictating

But she goes to great lengths to deny that the government will return the aircraft seat fee.
– It is not Ryanair dictating Norwegian politics. It does indeed parliament and government. And the government follows therefore up the decisions made in Parliament.

– So the solution must be to find out this charge?

– There are at least not Ryanair dictating Norwegian politics, says Jensen.

“Touching Ap-care”

She says Labor displays a “touching care” for a budget airline they previously would boycott.

– I think that stands out in a very harsh light. There are double standards in order to put it mildly. Labor led by Jens Stoltenberg and a large number of ministers in the coalition government called for boycotting this company. They would not fly with it. Trade unions and local authorities would not use this company.

Now it’s not about that anymore. Now Ryanair irritated over a smaller passenger fee. But it is not Ryanair dictating Norwegian politics, says Jensen. She states that it is Ryanair who have chosen to base their business away from Rygge.

– I have great understanding for the employees are concerned by the decision to Rygge Airport Moss made last night. The news received the we simultaneously. I have therefore today warned that we will go further into the matter and see the outstanding issues. It is Ryanair’s decision that has consequences for Rygge, says Jensen.

Left: – Political blackmail

Liberal leader Trine Skei Grande is pleased that the finance minister stands firm on the fee the four cooperating parties agree .

– the campaign Ryanair now operates, and which they have in many other European countries could, political extortion and harassment. It may not politicians do genuflection for. What kind of society we end up then? It is this pressure Støre, Energetic Vedum now making genuflections too. It is crude populism and politics without a backbone, says Grande.

She says she is sorry for the staff who now are in danger of losing their jobs, but states that there is no fee that allows Ryanair withdraws from Rygge.
– We can not just look at measures to combat unemployment in western Norway, but also in Oslo. We have to work with it in the budget, said Liberal leader.

– In retrospect, would you do anything differently in dealing with this fee?

– there is certainly much one can say in hindsight, but if you think we should get through the green shift without politicians who must stand in the storm, so you need to think again. It’s not going to be easy, says Grande.

She says the tax will have minimal environmental, but admits that the Liberals had wanted to increase the fuel surcharge.
– There had been a lot more power full, but there was so far we came in negotiations. And we stand for it, says Grande.

– Not about Ryanair

– I would totally reject that we do genuflection for Ryanair. It’s not about fllyselskapet, but if the fee that the government and the cooperation parties have agreed that a compromise far down on the Liberal list. Left could win a majority get what they really wanted, namely fuel taxes. It had had an impact on the environment and your budget, says Labor leader Jonas Gahr Store.

Labor itself has a congress resolution that they will “investigate flyeseteavgift inspired by German model.” Germany has since 2011 had a distance based passenger fee ( “luftverkehrsteuer”) on flights from German airports. The rates in 2015 were for short haul 7.50 euros, medium 23.43 euros and for langditanse 42.18 euros, according to Customs Administration.

– Must see the big picture

Had 1000 lost jobs have been acceptable if it had had the environmental impact Ap want?

– No, I think one has to look at the overall picture, also workplaces. When they say that it was adopted without investigations, triggering the consequences, then it is bad workmanship.

In a parliamentary question asked Wednesday Støre government to turn in this matter.
-It’s not too late to turn, if the FRP is not too proud. Will Progress Party leader and finance minister listen to your employees and save jobs, asked Minister of the podium.

Stable conditions

– Minister, if we are now doing, it will not be succumbing for Ryanair pressure?

– We have to relate to the airports, the customer base they have, and stable conditions. I’m not sure the political authorities to give in to pressure, but one must be aware of the effects of the decisions are encountered, in relation to both jobs and an airport that has great importance in the district.
