(Dagbladet): – I am so overwhelmed, I have almost no words! says the 28-year Oslo woman told Dagbladet.

The Court of Appeal has sentenced Julio Kopseng (38) to 21 years’ detention with 10 years minimum term for sexual abuse of 17 women in the period 2001-2013. It is the statutory maximum punishment and the strictest rape sentence in Norway ever.

28-year-old was raped by the prolific dancer for a show at Hønefoss in 2012. Under the court’s treatment last fall, she won not forward, but the jury in the court of Appeal believed in her, partly after seeing a mobile video Kopseng even took the rape.

Possible life imprisonment

Containment Penalties imposed only the most dangerous criminals in Norway, and can be extended as long as the court finds that the defendant is still dangerous to society. In addition to detention sentence was Kopseng ordered to pay all the 17 aggrieved women redress. Most are awarded “standard sum” by rape 150 000, but the dancer’s former spouse receive 270,000 crowns because she was subjected to prolonged and serious abuse; the court finds that she was raped 400 times in eight months.

The Armed Forces have the opportunity to appeal the sentence, the application of law, procedural errors and raising the Supreme Court.
