Having gained control of forest fire in Rissa – Adresseavisen

Over 20 man has in many hours working hard to gain control on a grass and forest fire in the north of Storvatnet in Rissa. The fire was reported just after 14.00.

Time 18.50 confirms fire champion Per Ivar Lyshom the fire is extinguished.

– We have been told by the forest fire helicopter that they have managed to extinguish. It is now made an inspection of the area, said Lysholm.

Still remains part by extinction in the area to gain control of all of the embers in roots and sod.

Feared spread to house

A total of 25 man from the fire department, as well as 10 -12 man from Civil Defence in action to gain control of the fire. Duty fire chief Einar Nervik enlightened Adresseavisen way that the fire department was on site with three tankers and three crew cars.

Along feared that the fire would reach the cottages and houses in the area.

– We have extinguished a part of the fire but still it spreads outward. We have now added protection against several cottages and villas in the area, said Nervik while the fire was ongoing.

The fire was attacked from two flanks, and fire chief Nervik stated that it was laid out hundreds of meters of water snakes in the terrain to ensure water supply to the crews.

It was Trøndelag police which reported grass fire on Twitter just after the clock 14.15.

Disabling stream

Operations Øystein Sagen at Trøndelag police report that they received notice of the fire from the fire brigade in time 14.09. Police had two patrol working in the area.

The mains were also switched off due to the fire.

According to operations manager Bjorn Handegard started the fire as a result of a fire which was lit up on the ground.

– It started but a so-called controlled burning that has gotten out of control. We’ve talked to the person who has lit up the fire, said Handegard.

The effort is concentrated around extinguish but Handegard does not preclude Bonfires will be consequences.

Police are out and warns residents in Sor-Trondelag from lighting fires outdoors.

– There have been a few days without rain – it’s dry terrain, warns police.
