report on beggars

in June last year gave FAFO print a 164-page report, which many of the myths about visiting beggars from Romania refuted. One of the key findings was that there was criminal ringleaders behind the visiting. Scientists also believed to have found that those who beg, rarely also involved in the crime.

Oslo police, however, felt the picture is far more nuanced. Deputy Chief Roger Andresen said that the report is too bombastic when it establishes that there are no criminal ringleaders behind beggars.

Andresen said while there that was positive that the report was prepared and that it was a good basis for further work .
