The police have completed the rescue operation in Reisa River.
Police put Thursday afternoon launched a major rescue operation after an entourage of ten canoeists came apart in Reisa river in Reisadalen. By 16 o’clock the police could finally conclude that all were accounted for.
– The last two are found in good walking along the river. Thus, all found and rescue operation ended, says Morten Augensen in Operations Troms Police VG.
Notification of overturning
– Initially there was talk the canoes that had overturned in the river so we drove full turnout here in case people were in need. After we got in touch with more and more we scaled down the rescue operation, said operations manager.
For three-time was still two of the ten canoeists reported missing. Police then got into the message that it was made observations about two people walked along the river and got just before 16 confirmed that it was the last two canoeists as they come within cellular coverage.
