Two of the three missing found in good condition – Avisa Nordland

Police now considering whether exploration campaign for the missing man in his 20s should resume Monday morning.

It is Salten police who coordinates the search and they should consider further search in consultation with JRCC Northern Norway (HRS).

The principle is that the missing man is well equipped, experienced and in good shape. He has not come back from the trip as agreed.

Two campaigns

Police and Red Cross started Sunday evening two exploration missions on Saltfjellet after two different tour mates were reported missing.

The one they were looking for was a man in his 20s, and the other a tour mates consisting of a father and his son.

Both consequences would go from suede to Southern Bjøllåvatnet on Saltfjellet, but was reported missing when they got home Sunday. They embarked on tour Friday.

Found two of three missing

The time 23.51 Sunday reported Salten police that two of the missing are found in good condition . They have remained in the tent in the bad weather.

– They have done the right thing – and remained in the tent. They lay south- southwest of Southern Bjøllåvatnet, says operations Remi Johansen to an.no at midnight.

The crews from the Red Cross light when after the last man – who had been on the mountain alone.

– How is the weather in the area now?

– As the Saltfjellet is pedestrianized, it is well not much. So we’ll see how long it is safe to have people out looking. It’s good dark out now too.

– The crews keep not necessarily on continuously until the last man is found?

– We’re going to stretch it far to find him. Now it is not dark for very long. So we have to assess the situation ahead, says Remi Johansen.

Concern Message

– We got concern from relatives about the same time. Both Beiarn Red Cross and Saltdal Red Cross participating in the search. They’re preparing themselves now, but the weather is working against them. We do not compromise on safety, says operations Ivar Bo Nilsson.

– There is bad weather at the Salt Mountain. That is why we send two patrols. One of Beiarn and one from Salten, a total of seven people, said Brother Even Inhibition Hytt Red Cross.

Hyttesøk

He says that it is currently only talking about a hyttesøk to check whether subjects are located in one of the many cabins on Saltfjellet.

– The patrols stand by Sørelva now because of column driving over Saltfjellet. It considered whether they should take further snowmobile continues Inhibition Hytt.

– How quickly they get to the cabins depends on weather and snow. It is reported better weather throughout the night, so we’ve asked them to consider the weather when they come up.

Well equipped

According to Ivar Bo Nilsson will both tour mates be well equipped.

– All three are well trained, mountain habitual and well equipped. We believe and hope they have taken into a hut or dug down to await the bad weather.
