Man found dead after landslide in Jotunheimen – Aftenposten

It confirms police Gudbrandsdalslågen Tuesday.

A man in his 30s from Valdres has been missing in the area. He went skiing for 10 on Monday and should be back in the afternoon. Exploration action was initiated on Tuesday.

Early Tuesday morning it was found a sack and a pair of skis in the area.

– The backpack and skis were found just below the top of the mountain, in a place where it is natural to put down equipment before you must climb further, says operations Ann Karin Sundsgården in Gudbrandsdalslågen police.

A rescue helicopter and police helicopter has helped in the search. One of the helicopters observed a landslide in the area and an alpine rescue team headed into place. The area is situated at about 2,300 meters altitude and is very inaccessible.
