A parents from Southern indicted for having broken a femur at his newborn baby.
Doctors who examined the child, suspected that the injuries were inflicted, said police lawyer Ingrid Thorsen at Agder Police NRK.
– The fracture of the femur is basically unusual, but in addition this breach of such a nature that it can only be sustained by violence, writes a pediatrician in a report.
It says that the femur was broken right off and that her feet had shifted considerably.
The child, who has received treatment at a hospital in southern, has not life-threatening injuries.
The father of the child should have stated that the injuries occurred because the baby bumped into a dørkam. Doctors writes however in the report that such a mishap in the worst case would have led to a superficial cut.
The child’s mother has explained to the police that she is the only one who has taken care of the child since it was born .
Earlier this month, the parents charged with aggravated assault against a defenseless person. Both deny guilt.
The two are now in custody for violence.
