– There is no doubt in my mind that emissions from energy production, CO and methane and other gases contribute to climate change, said Lien in a parliamentary question on Wednesday.
– Having said that makes this government together with the new majority more to combat these climate challenges than any government ever has done, he added.
Questions in Question Time
Christian Democrat Kjell Ingolf Ropstad raised the issue on the basis of an interview medSiv Siv Jensen in Aftenposten, where she expresses doubts about climate change is man-made.
– manmade activity is causing climate change, noted Lien when he got an identical follow-up questions from SV Heikki Eidsvoll Holmås.
– Policies based on knowledge
Tine Sundtoft (H), Climate and Environment, was asked by Aftenposten about what she thinks about Siv Jensen’s statements.
– The government is absolutely clear that we adds IPCC basis for our policy. It says clearly mentioned in the White Paper we come to Parliament with around 2030 targets. Government basing our policies on knowledge and using the IPCC as a good tool on.
– But it is a problem that the finance minister questions whether climate change is man-made?
– It also heard later in the interview, is that the finance minister is quite clear on how the government basing our policy. Why we have said that we should reinforce climate agreement. It is most important for the government, that we deliver on this. The minister makes renewable energy and what Transport Minister makes in collective commitment and jernbanesatsing- that we deliver concrete policies are the most important in this important matter.
Sets no questions
– Do you feel safe where FRP stands in the climate issue?
– I feel completely assured that the entire government, including FRP, working every day to strengthen climate agreement. It is through the specific policies we show what we want with this.
– With what we know today, is there anything anyone questioning whether climate change is man-made?
– I do not question it. I think the IPCC has really come forward to good knowledge. This is not new knowledge and has never been so evident as now.
