Nina Jensen: – Sin and irresponsible to cast doubt on climate change is man-made – Aftenposten

Progress Party leader and Finance Minister Siv Jensen said during today’s edition of “Stanghelle & amp; Eilertsen: 2 to 1 “that she doubts that climate change would have documented the past ten years is manmade.

It gets Siv Jensen’s sister Nina Jensen, head of the environmental organization WWF in Norway, to react.

– Klimaskepsisens time is long past. There is hardly any field of human history that is more documented through and there is a linear relationship between CO2 emissions and climate change. Rather than cast doubt on anthropogenic climate change, one should rather spend energy on finding solutions. I would encourage any member of the government to take this very much seriously, she says over the phone on the way home from a climate summit in the United States.

– Fortunately, not Norwegian climate policy depends on FRP leader’s personal views in this matter, but I would also emphasize that any political leader who today cast doubt on anthropogenic climate change, is not doing its job as a role model and to create solutions to the most important issues facing the world, she adds.

– Is it not important what the finance minister think about this matter?

– The most important thing is what you do, and as long as the government has committed itself to an ambitious climate policy, I want to relate to it. But it is both sin and irresponsible to cast doubt on climate change is man-made.

– Hope there’s a storm in a teacup

She has not said it clearly before, are you surprised?

Yes, can become at least a little surprised, primarily because one either slept an hour or really lived in a bubble. But I think this was simply apathy more than a real stance of the party leader’s side.

– But she has read the quotes and declined Aftenposten offer to moderate or deepen their answers Tuesday afternoon and evening?

I hope this is a storm in a glass and not a real stance. No leader can today expect to be taken seriously if one is contesting climate change. To avoid future ambiguity on this will the upcoming congress FRP hopefully help to clarify this position once and for all, says Jensen.

– Now hold it

Nature and Youth believes that statement to Jensen is the straw that breaks the camel’s back. The organization requires Jensens departure.

– Now hold it. It is not possible to have a climate denies the Treasury in 2015. The government will never strengthen its climate agreement when the second most influential minister living in their own bubble, and does not believe in climate change. She is a threat to Norwegian reorganization and for the climate change negotiations and is therefore unfit. Now we need Erna take action. Siv must go, says NU leader Arnstein Vestre.
