The Supreme Court rejected the appeal in the case of the policeman who left Linn Madelen … – Aftenposten

The 42-year-old policeman was in Agder High Court sentenced to two years and six months imprisonment. He appealed both the Court’s application of the law and sentencing.

A unanimous Appeals Committee of the Supreme Court rejected the appeal, writes Varden. Thus, the ruling parties.

The policeman is convicted of having abandoned Linn Madelen Bråthen (33) on top of bruspennet night of August 3, 2013. Seconds later jumped or she fell from just over 40 meters high tension .

Bråthen died immediately after she hit the water surface and was found dead the following day.

The court believes 42-year-old arguing with Bråthen before he left her on the bridge, and that his knowledge of her psychiatric history suggests that he realized there was a real danger Bråthen life.

As a policeman, he had besides a special duty to help her, according to the judgment.
