Person injured by bears in Svalbard – Bergens Tidende

– What we know and what we go out with, is that a tour mates of six people are attacked by bears at Fredheim, said the governor’s chief Vidar Arnesen Svalbardposten.

– The person who was attacked, was flown to Longyearbyen, and the doctor here confirms that only talk about wounds, and that he is slightly injured. In addition, one person taken for treatment of frostbite, but it is independent of the episode with the bear, says Arnesen said.

– The bear is shot dead, he adds.

There are five to six mil to run with scooter to Fredheim, northeast of Longyearbyen.

– We are investigating on the spot, but has not complete overview of events yet, Arnesen says. He can not yet say anything about which country traveling companions come from or how they had come to Fredheim.
