Several cars made by avalanches on E39 – TV 2

– We now have plowed our way through the slide. It is only a little bit that remains, said operations at Hordaland Police, Morten Kronen, TV 2.

A geologist will examine landslide area on E39 in Romarheimsdalen Monday morning. The road will not be opened until the assessment has clarified that it is safe to go there.

11 people involved

Eleven people, divided into four cars must have been involved in avalanches at Masfjorden tunnel in Hordaland.

Two people and a baby is sent to the doctor for check, while the other eight have come from the incident without injury .

– A child has received minor injuries as a result of a broken window. The child received treatment by ambulance on site. It was fortunately healthcare on both sides of Masfjorden tunnel, says operations crown.

Large landslide hazard

The police send away some personnel due danger of avalanches, but there are still some left at rasstedet.

Heavy traffic

E39 is the main thoroughfare on the west coast. There is heavy traffic on the road, especially Sunday which is the last day of winter in the Houston area.

Motorists are advised to drive E16 between Bergen and Sogn.
