Usurped car in Oslo. Massive car chase ended in big collision in Vestfold – Dagbladet.no

(Dagbladet): Just before at 23.20 Saturday evening a man will have usurped a car by Østbanehallen in downtown Oslo, according to the Oslo police.

The robber must have threatened to his car with a knife, and then let the fleeing southward, along the E18.

When it began about 40 minutes long hunt for the man, which ended in a major collision in Re in Vestfold.



Alerted police

Oslo police were notified of the car owner who was robbed and threatened with a knife at 23.20, according to operations manager André Kråkenes.

– The victim testified that the car drove in the direction E18. We notified so Asker and Bærum police about the theft, telling Operations André Kråkenes Dagbladet.

South of Oslo was the suspect bilraneren caught by police patrols.

– We had some luck. He just drove straight ahead, says operations Kråkenes about how they caught the man in the stolen car.

Police in Drammen and Vestfold was then notified.



Drove through Drammen

The man continued to flee from police along E18. Through Drammen, and then along the detour road about Holmestrand, Bishop Road. All the way he had about eight to ten police cars behind him.

Five of these are according to police bruised. The other four have “something greater damage,” writes the police in a press release.



Major damage

Pictures collision site shows great material damage to several of the cars were involved. A Sea King rescue helicopter was also requisitioned after the accident.

Police worked long to secure the place.
