May ban diesel cars in Oslo – Clear Voice

Wednesday talking Oslo City Council on diesel vehicles should be prohibited in parts of Oslo. It comes on the days of winter when there is much pollution in the air. The ban will probably get a majority in the Oslo City Council, said channel NRK.

In addition, it may cost extra in toll on driving SUV car. The city council is also considering new tolls on the town limits. It may be lower speed limit on the main roads. To hope the city council to improve the air in the center of winter.

Oslo tried to get a ban on diesel cars three years ago. Then said NPRA no and showed that it was not allowed. Earlier this year changed Parliament rules.

Guri Melby is commissioner for environment and transport in Oslo. She says that there may be a difference in how many days diesel cars banned from winter to winter. It depends on how the climate is too.

– We have to cooperate with NSB and Routes about getting a better deal on trains, buses and trams on those days. But it’s also about getting more people to choose other times to travel. It’s also about getting more people to work at home and get more people to cycle or walk instead of taking the car, says Melby NRK.
