8 years old Lithuanian Monika Sviglinskaja was found dead at home in Sund at Sotra Hordaland November 14th 2011. Track at the scene triggered murder investigation.
The case was dropped after nine months, when police concluded a likely suicide.
The girl’s mother and counsel Stig Nilsen asked former NCIS investigator Asbjørn Hansen watch case. He criticized the police for shelving of the case. Hordaland Police ruled in May 2014 that the investigation should be resumed.
21. October last year was his mother’s former partner, a 32 year old man convicted litauer, arrested and charged with manslaughter. He denies guilt.
9. February 2015 came a report from a working group appointed by the Director of Public Prosecutions. The conclusion is that the investigation was characterized by serious shortcomings.
13. February gave the policeman and Notifier Robin Schaefer out a book in which he is highly critical of management’s handling of the case.
Bureau Police Matters ila February 25 Hordaland Police fined NOK 100,000 for serious dereliction of duty in connection with Monika case, a fine police have adopted. No individuals punished.
17. March complaints Monika’s mother, Kristina Sviglinskaja, the Bureau’s decision to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
18. March said Head of violence and moral section at Bergen police, Rigmor Isehaug, resigns due Monika case.
