– We spent a lot of time to prioritize issues, and expected that a portion of these would uncover physical abuse. Until now we do not know that this has been done largely, says section Lena Reif in NCIS NRK.
Reif think one of the reasons that so far has not uncovered so many cases of physical abuse is that far less than half of the cases are investigated.
In Operation Share struck all the country’s 27 police districts in December 2013 to the total 68 people who were suspected of having downloaded indecent images of children. So far only 99 of the 223 people NCIS has evidence against, have been investigated. In only 13 of burglaries are persons convicted.
The operation revealed that small police districts that have hitherto investigated the largest proportion of cases they have been assigned. Large police districts that Oslo and Bergen has only investigated one quarter of the cases, NRK reported.
