- Have made contact with the missing skiers – NRK

Police got the message that three people had not come back from skiing to agreed time Sunday night after a trip in the mountains.

The three skiers going on a cabin and was expected back to Modalen 16:00 Sunday afternoon.

Have established contact

After what TV 2 has been confirmed are runners themselves safely on Norddal cabin, a self cottage belonging the Bergen Turlag.

– A family member has received an SMS stating that they will return. But it is not we glad, as it is large landslides in the area. We try to make contact with them, to get them to be at the cabin, said operations in Hordaland Police Lars Geitle TV 2.

Bergen and Hordaland turlag says to NRK that Norddal cabin is located in rugged mountain terrain in the south end of Big Norddal Water Stølsheimen.

Norddal cabin is a self catering cottage and is available all year. The cabin has cooking equipment and stay. Stølsheimen is mountainous between Sognefjord in the north and Voss mountains in the south.

– There are provisions, gas and wood enough to survive until summer: Crackers, canned dinners, oatmeal and toppings cabin is located in tough mountain terrain, but it’s okay to get there on skis in the winter, said cabin operator Marit Djupvik in TURLAG NRK.

– How long does it take to ski down from the cabin?

– I would think that skivante people manage it in three hours. Of our 25 cabins located this middle of the tree when it comes to availability and height. It is natural to go down to Ortnevik or Steinsland, says Djupvik.

Had turning

Crew Red Cross failed to take forward to the lodge on Monday night because of bad weather.

– It is challenging coverage even with a satellite phone. Police in Hordaland coordinate action. Some of our crews had to return due to difficult conditions, says Håvard Hongve Helle, spokesman for Red Cross Hordaland.

He confirms that this is the only exploration campaign in the county so far at Easter.

Poor meteorological

JRCC assists action but they also fail to take forward the airway.

– We sent a helicopter from Floro to look night to Monday at 4:00. It had to return because of poor visibility and difficult flying conditions. Also today it is part fog hampers search along the ground in the area, said rescue leader Eirik Walle NRK.

– Once the weather gets so good that we can out to fly, we will send out helicopter again.
